Primbit W

Bitumer Primbit W

Solvent-free, water-based bitumen emulsion used for performing anti-moisture coating and impregnation layer. Bitumer Primbit W is an adhesion-enhancing and priming compound under Bitumer Elaston 2K and waterproofing compounds.

The high dry matter content of about 55 – 60% guarantees the formation of a strong protective coating, resistant to moisture and aggressive substances in the soil.

Key features:
  • ready to use after mixing,
  • high-performance, adhesion-enhancing,
  • for use on dry and wet substrates,
  • forms a waterproof layer on the applied surface,
  • water-based, contains no solvents,
  • due to its excellent adhesive properties, it provides stronger and space-free adhesion of the surface to th applied bitumen membranes,
  • safe for the environment and in contact with styrofoam or wool,
  • has thixotropic properties.

Bitumer Primbit W is a dedicated primer product under Bitumer Elaston 2K.
It is also ideally suited for:

  • preparation of primer and undercoat layers under heat-sealable membranes, asphalt compounds,
  • used as a primer coat prior to the application of bitumen membranes of all brands – due to it’s excellent adhesive properties,
  • performing effective, system moisture protection of: roofs, flat roofs, concrete screeds, basements, baths, terraces, footings and foundations.
  • protecting concrete from corrosion and moisture.
  • for use inside and outside buildings.

The compound can be applied to the surface by hand with a brush, roller or paint brush.

Why should you impregnate horizontal and vertical surfaces?
  1. Moisture Protection: Impregnation creates a barrier that prevents moisture from seeping into the material. This is crucial for surfaces like walls, floors, and roofs to prevent issues like mold, mildew, and rot.
  2. Prevention of Mold and Fungal Growth: Moisture can lead to the growth of mold and fungi, which not only pose health risks but can also cause structural damage. Impregnation helps to inhibit the growth of these harmful organisms.
  3. Weather Resistance: Horizontal and vertical surfaces are exposed to various weather conditions such as rain, snow, and UV radiation. Impregnation enhances the material’s resistance to these elements, reducing degradation and prolonging its lifespan.
  4. Ease of Cleaning: Impregnated surfaces are often easier to clean as they are less prone to staining and dirt accumulation. This is particularly beneficial for surfaces like floors and walls in high-traffic areas.
  5. Longer Durability: By protecting against moisture, mold, fungi, and weathering, impregnation helps extend the lifespan of materials, reducing the need for frequent repairs or replacements.
  6. Safety: Impregnation can contribute to maintaining better indoor air quality by preventing moisture buildup and mold growth, which can have positive effects on occupants’ health and well-being.
